It is this old world charm that made it famous on hit TV show Game of Thrones, with many locations around the city being used for filming throughout its eight year run. One of the most popular things to do in Dubrovnik is now the Game of Thrones walking tour, which takes fans to many of the key sites used during filming.
The Old Town of Dubrovnik (which is the area featured in our poster design) was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, and was described by Irish poet Bernard Shaw paradise on Earth It is not hard to see why. With endless rows of whitewashed buildings, smart terracotta rooftops and striking city walls, it is a delightful place to spend a few days. The city walls are actually one of the areas main tourist attractions; first built in the 9th century and still remarkably well-preserved. Encircling the whole city, they offer spectacular views across both the city and the Adriatic Sea. As well as the walls, the forts or Dubrovnik are highly visited areas of the city. These can be found both along and seperately from the city walls which provide further insight into the areas history and more lovely views of the sea and town below. One of the main draws for visitors is the main street, known as the Placa or Stradun.
