Although Watermouth is a hamlet in its own right, Watermouth Bay is often mentioned as one a tourist highlight for the neighbouring towns, even being referred to as the gateway to Exmoor and Ilfracombe Based in North Devon, camping in the area is pretty popular; with a campsite in Watermouth Bay itself and several close by.
The bay area is overlooked by Watermouth Castle, which was originally built in 1825 by the Basset family, who are recorded in the Domesday Book for coming to Britain with William the Conqueror. Today, its open to the public as a tourist attraction with an on-site theme park and on-site accommodation.
The beach and harbour (which is the feature of our poster design) area are one of the areas most visited and widely regarded as one of the most stunning locations in Devon. Particularly popular in the summer months with holidaymakers, the sheltered cove is made up of sand and shingle that offers perfect views out to sea.
