Venice Italy Canvas Print
Venice is a truly magical city where romance, architecture and Italian feasts collide, so it’s no surprise that it’s one of the most popular tourist hot spots in Italy. Home to so many iconic landmarks - the Rialto Bridge, Basilica’s and vast network of canals, it’s hard to know where to look first.
Birthplace of the Bellini at the legendary Harry’s bar, Venice is also a place that knows how to put on a delicious spread with its own take on cuisine. Many bars serve cicheti (Venetian tapas) during happy hour, or you can choose from the array of canal side bistros are on hand to serve up fresh lagoon seafood amongst more traditional Italian dishes.
Art lovers will be right at home here. Classic Renaissance pieces can be found at Galleria dell’Accademia, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is one of the World’s best modern art collections. There’s also beautiful architecture to take in almost everywhere you look; think churches lined with priceless marble, stunning ceilings and of course, the show stopping St. Mark’s Square.
Did you also know that Venice is responsible for setting popular fashion trends? Move over Milan! Platform shoes, uncorsetted dresses and eyeglasses all originated here before catching on in the rest of Europe. Local boutiques and showrooms offer beautiful clothing from red carpet ready looks, silk screened garments and jewellery made from Murano glass.
Hopping aboard a Gondola (as we've done in this image) is still one of the best ways to see the sights and delights that Venice has to offer. Sit back, relax and enjoy the views as the Gondolier expertly navigates through narrow passages. For an extra special experience, time your gondola ride for sunset over the Lagoon. How dreamy.
