Meribel France poster print
With cheery wooden buildings at every turn, M̩eribel is a resort that is not only attractive but pretty darn perfect for almost every kind of alpine holidaymaker. Particular popular with the British, it was expat Colonel Peter Lindsay who first founded the resort back in 1938.
Tucked away between the Three Valleys, this French town is gateway to over 600km of piste, which has runs suitable for every level of skier and snowboarder from bunny slopes to off-piste. If you feel like stepping off the slopes for a while, M̩eribel has you covered there too. The Olympic centre is a mecca for both indoor and outdoor family fun such as snowmobiling, sledding, swimming and a spa, so plenty to keep everybody entertained for a few days.
When the ski lifts stop, things really come to life in town! Dining out in the Three Valleys area usually doesn't come cheap (unless you know where to look) but your inner foodie will be jumping for joy at the selection of gourmet restaurants on offer. From cosy wine bars to noisy clubs and even open-air hotspots, you won't be surprised to hear that there are plenty of apr̬s spots in time to keep your feet moving until the wee small hours.
M̩eribel is another ski destination that is also open year-round, enjoying beautiful weather in the summer months. Those visiting out of ski season can take part in warmer weather activities such as road cycling, hiking and even a spot of golf.
