Oia, pronounced eee-yah, is the place that everybody makes a beeline for (which is where this image is based) and it is easy to see why: beautiful white washed buildings, sea views for days and of course the infamous blue church domes, this is THE place to experience the infamous Santorini sunset- preferably with a cocktail in hand!

Heading to the beach resort of Kamari is an absolute must to enjoy chilling out on the black volcanic beach, have some yummy traditional Greek cuisine or maybe even a bit of plate smashing (yes, that is still very much a thing) later in the evening.

The island has a rich history of producing wine and it is virtually impossible to travel around without stumbling across a vineyard. Enjoy a lazy afternoon sampling their delights looking out at the countryside or have another crack at seeing a glorious Aegean sunset by heading out to a clifftop winery in the early evening. Bliss.

Santorinis official capital is Fira, which is pretty similar to Oia without the iconic reputation. If going out out is your thing, this is where you will find the hub of the islands nightlife.

Santorini is most definitely a place that has the looks and personality to back up its amazing reputation!
