Algarve Portugal Poster Print

As the southernmost part of Portugal, the Algarve has been a popular holiday destination for holidaymakers around the world since the 1960s. As the holder of the title "sunniest region in Europe", with one of the warmest climates, it may be obvious why!

With a population of around half a million permanent residents, many of the Algarve's tourists own holiday villas in the area and visit several times a year. The 150km coastline has developed into several resorts (accessed via Faro airport) that each offer a little something different to suit almost every taste. Albufeira is well-known as the liveliest resort with a strip of bars and nightclubs, waterpark and lots of activities on offer. It's arguably one of the most visited. Portugal is known as a bit of a golf haven, and nowhere does it better than Vilamoura as well as the towns four world-class golf courses, there's a smart marina thats great for chic dining and a more relaxed kind of nightlife.

The part of the Algarve seen in our poster design in Lagos, pronounced La Goosh. The city started out life as a seafaring town and has still managed to hang on to much of its original character despite being popular with international tourists. Visitors can enjoy a stroll down the cobbled streets, dining on fresh caught seafood or take in the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade. This unique and dramatic part of the Portuguese coastline is made up of limestone rock arches, sea pillars and hidden grottos, which look amazing next to the deliciously turquoise Mediterranean Sea.
