Keswick England poster print

£9.00

The English market town of Keswick has a recorded history going back to the 13th century, although it’s there’s evidence suggesting that there was a prehistoric occupation in the area before that. Part of the legendary Lake District area, its home to just over 5,000 permanent residents and has been buoyed by tourism for almost 150 years which sees around 20,000 visits each year.

As is popular in many tourist destinations now, Keswick has its very own webcam overlooking the main street of its town centre, featuring some of its historic buildings and cobbled pathways. The weather here is pretty traditional to a UK climate – warmest in the summer months of July and August, but rain could be expected as a moment’s notice!

There’s plenty of things to do in and around Keswick, much of it centring on outdoor activities thanks to the area being so naturally beautiful. Walking in the fells is hugely popular, and those who want something a bit more adventurous can head to Borrowdale for a spot of climbing. But the adventure isn’t all on land, or event on the ground. The lakes provide the opportunity to take part in water sports or head out on a boat trip, with marinas based at nearby Derwentwater. If you fancy taking in the views from an alternative angle, paragliders are often spotted flying about the area doing just that.
