Whatever name you know Los Angeles by - L.A., City of Angels, Lala Land you know of it and about it. How could you not? Home of Hollywood, mecca of the entertainment industry, birthplace of reality television and location of palm-lined streets filled with designer shopping experiences.
The sun always shines in LA with temperatures soaring between July to September, and only drops as low as between 15-20 degrees Celsius in its coolest months. Coupled with the fact that it has a maximum of 35 days of rain per year, it is not hard to work out why the residents always seem to be a in good mood.
Los Angeles has hosted the Olympics twice (and will for a third time in 2028), receives 50 million visitors per year (42.5 million of which are from inside the United States) and houses 75 miles of coast with some of Southern Californias best beaches. These include Malibu, Long Beach (both used as sets for 90s show Baywatch) Santa Monica and Venices Muscle Beach which is credited with starting the 20th century physical fitness boom in the U.S.
The scene shown in our design is the well-known cityscape of Los Angeles, framed by the many suburban neighbourhoods and districts that have grown around it, of which there are 100s. A real life view of this is best seen from the Griffith Observatory, which is as much a gateway to the sites of Los Angeles as it is to the cosmos! From here you can get a great view of the Hollywood sign, Los Angeles Basin, Downtown and the Pacific Ocean.
