Without a shadow of a doubt, Blackpool is the most iconic seaside resort in the North of England. Popular with holidaymakers since the 1840s, the town remains at the forefront of the great British staycation to this day.

Home to seven miles of beach, 3 piers and its own amusement park, there is plenty of opportunity to relax on the sand or enjoy some good old fashioned seaside fun. As well as amusement arcades, crazy golf and thrill-seeking rides, you will be able to spot many original and traditional features (such as the Grade II listed North Pier, Venetian carousel and Victorian tea rooms) that remind you how long-loved the area is. In the autumn and winter months, visitors can also experience the Blackpool Illuminations, touted as one of the greatest free light shows on Earth spread across 6 miles of the promenade.

The most well-known landmark in town (and within the UK, for that matter) is Blackpool Tower, which can be seen just behind the beach in our poster design. At 158 metres tall and designed using inspiration of the Eiffel Tower, it first opened to the public in 1894. From the very top visitors can enjoy views across the promenade and Irish Sea, the brave ones can also walk across a section of glass floor that shows views of the tower 380ft directly below.

As well as the steel structure, Blackpool Tower is made of several other buildings underneath that are home to several other beloved tourist destinations in the town. They include the iconic Tower Circus and Tower Ballroom, Madame Tussauds Blackpool, Blackpool Tower Dungeon and SEA LIFE Blackpool.
