Capital city of Cuba and the largest city in the Caribbean region, Havana is full of life and Latin charm at every turn.
Home to more than 2 million Cubans, the city was originally founded in the 16th century and is a major port and leading commercial centre for all of Cuba.
Many tourists combine a stopover in Havana with one of Cubas beach resorts; spending a few days in a Havana hotel as a city break before travelling on to their final stop. The city has a very pleasant climate all year round, with average temperatures ranging from around 22 degrees Celsius in the winter months to 28 degrees in the height of summer.
Havana is also a beach city, and in fact has some of Cubas best beaches. Whether you are looking for a good time or peace and relaxation, theres a patch of beautiful white sand with your name on it! The biggest and best known beach in Havana is Santa MarÌ_a del Mar, which is part of 9 kilometre stretch of beaches named Playas del Este about 20 minutes from the city centre. In the summer months of June until August, the area is absolutely buzzing with tourists and locals alike all looking to soak up the sun and have a good time.
Our poster design features some of the classic car models you will see driving around the streets of Havana, and have become something of a tourist attraction themselves. Many of the models date back to the 1940s and 50s and often seen is pristine condition almost brand-new. Behind the cars you will see El Capitolo or the National Capitol Building. Commissioned by former president, it was completed in 1929 and is one of the most visited sites in Havana.
