Kuala Lumpur Malaysia poster print

Local on the west-central peninsula, Kuala Lumpur (affectionately known as KL) is both the capital and largest city in Malaysia. With a population of just under 2 million, it is also one of southeast Asias fastest growing metropolitan regions in economic development as well as population. Not bad for a tin-mining settlement founded in in the 1800s!

The weather in Kuala Lumpur is humid all year round but best enjoyed in the summer (May to July) or winter (December to February) months, when rain is much less like but not completely inescapable.

Mixing contemporary and traditional architecture, buildings in Kuala Lumpur are quite striking and a definite feast for the eyes. This even includes the railway station, which was built in the early 1900s and features a series of peaks and domes atop of its pristine white exterior.

Our poster design shows the wonderful Kuala Lumpur skyline from across Lake Titiwangsa (which is just as breath-taking at night time). Some of the citys main buildings can be seen including the TM Tower, home of Telekom Malaysia. Also visible is the Petronas Towers; a twin tower building that stand is one of the tallest in the world at 452 metres high, which makes it a great sightseeing spot. One of the most quirky buildings to be seen is the Istana Budaya to the right of the design, which is also known as the Palace of Culture. Officially opened in 1999 following a 3yr construction, it serves as Malaysias main venue for theatre performances of all kinds.
