Holidays in Mauritius could easily be confused with somewhere in the Caribbean - glorious, soft white beaches, lush tropical greenery, maybe even some frolicking dolphins close by. Not only that, but the entire island is wrapped in one of the world’s largest unbroken barrier reefs, which is a dream  for divers or snorkelers, and gives the Maldives so very stiff competition.

Based about 1,200 miles off the southeast coast of Africa, there are actually four islands that make up the area – the main island of Mauritius, St. Brandon, Agalega and Rodrigues. Mauritius is a buoyant hub of tourism since it was first discovered 600 years ago, and today almost 1.5 million visitors travel there every year.

There are plenty of things to do for all on the island; however the most breath-taking are likely to involve nature. From volcanic craters and waterfalls to forests and even a botanical garden, there’s plenty to marvel at. The other thing visitors enjoy quite a bit is the Mauritian food, which is eclectic to say the least! Taking inspiration places such as neighbouring Madagascar, Asia, Europe and Africa, you can enjoy every kind of dining style between gourmet and street food. It’s a true treat for the senses.

Although there are many amazing beaches to choose from, the one we’ve featured in our poster design is Le Morne. Located on a west coast peninsula of the main island, it’s wonderful beach loved by all and well known as a kite surfer’s paradise. Rising dramatically over the background is Morne Brabant with its summit at a massive 556 metres above sea level, giving the area a more dramatic feel.
