St. Anton (known formally as Sankt Anton am Arlberg) is an Austrian village hailed as a paradise for boarders and skiers, filled with plenty of runs and off-piste options to keep its visitors entertained. Seamlessly blending tradition with sophistication, the cosy central streets are lined with quaint wooden chalets and brightly painted exteriors alongside pristine cream builds that house a bustle of shops, bars and restaurants.

As you would expect, you will find traditional alpine activities aplenty away from the main slopes which include sledding, ice skating and snowshoe walking. Those who want to take the edge off the winter chill also have a range of indoor activities too, such as climbing, racket sports and even a wellness centre for a more relaxing experience.

The resort is jam-packed with cafes and restaurants to try out, featuring everything from local traditional fare to cuisines from around the world. However, it is the apres scene that really catches the attention of visitors.

St. Anton is home to Mooserwirt, one of the most famous apr̬s bars in the whole of Europe that claims to serve more beer per day than any other bar in Austria! Aside from that, there is a real range in styles; from mountain side bars to chic chandelier-lit chalets, traditional pubs and more besides.

St. Anton is also among the very lucky few ski resorts that have become the star of the big (and small) screen for many years. It was first shown in the early 1930s in The White Ecstasy, then in 1969 in Downhill Racer, starring Gene Hackman and Robert Redford. More recently, it was used by Jamiroquai in their music video for Light Years in 1995, and again in 2011 for the film Chalet Girl.
