Zante Greece poster print
As part of the Ionian Islands group with Kefalonia and Corfu, Zante (or Zakynthos, to use its official name) is one of Greece's tourist hotspots. And for good reason! The island is a delightful mixture of quaint local villages, welcome vibrant tourist resorts and Zante town, the capital city which is home to over a quarter of the island's total population. Here you'll also find a beautiful waterfront area filled with fishing boats and quaint cafes.
But Zante's charms aren't all on land. The sea around the island is a breeding ground for loggerhead sea turtles, which appear for several weeks of the year for mating season. The best area to try and spot them is just off the south coast.
The Beach in our poster design is Navagio Bay, or 'Shipwreck Beach's it's more commonly known thanks to the remains of the MV Panagiotis that washed up in 1980. Navagio one of the most popular beaches to visit on the island (it's actually one of Greece's most photographed beaches) despite the fact that it can only be reached by boat. Those who want to enjoy a birds eye view of the cove head just outside of Anafonitria, and photos are 100% no filters required - the sea really is such a beautiful shade of turquoise thanks to the large amount of sulphurous caves in the area.
