Not to be confused with Palma Nova, the lively family resort a few minutes down the road, Palma (or Palma de Mallorca to give its proper name) is a beacon for Spain and its culture.

Capital city of Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, and home of the islands airport, Palma is absolutely packed with both traditional and cosmopolitan touches than assure its visitors an enjoyable stay.

Unlike other popular tourist destinations in Spain, Palma is open and active all year round so you can choose the best time to suit you in the summer months the weather is hot and sunny virtually every day, winter temperatures are milder but still in double figures and with very little chance of rain.

We have chosen to feature the iconic La Seu Cathedral in our design, situated in the Old Town and a view that dominates Palmas landscape. The view from Le Seu over the bay is quite spectacular and a must see whilst in the city. Go inside the building itself and you are in for a treat; the ornate interior was designed by famed Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.

Palma is just alive after dark as it is during the day, and the trendy vibrant area of Santa Catalina is the perfect place to head to experience the nightlife on offer. Think cool bars, restaurants in converted windmills and chilled cafes with a late-night scene. You can also find some of the citys best artisan shops in this quarter.

Culture vultures will be in their element in Palma as the city is filled with museums and galleries, ranging from modern and contemporary art to sculpture gardens and architecture. Food lovers will also feel right at home wandering around the markets sampling delicious local fare.
